G’day I’m Bronwyn (Bronii) Williams from Lake Macquarie, Newcastle NSW Australia. I first became interested in gourds six years ago when visiting and attending a small demonstration of gourds in my hometown of Wangi Wangi NSW. Not ever seeing a gourd before, I was most intrigued with the basic art that was done on these gourds. My creative mind went into a spin as I thought how this beautiful wooden surface of these gourds could be created into many artistic designs. My life hasn’t been the same, since !

With a little art experience at High School but excelling in my needlework, sewing, pattern making and craft subjects. I spent my life sewing, knitting and crocheting for my two daughters and then for my grandchildren. That was until ‘Gourds’ became my life !

I purchased many dried gourds from our Australian Gourdfather in NSW and had them delivered to QLD where I was living. Purchasing the Complete Book of Gourd Artistry by Ginger Summit and Jim Widess contained the knowledge and techniques I needed.

As a member of the American Gourd Artist Guild, I met so many beaut folk in the Gourdpatch who, over the years, have supported, shared and encouraged my Gourd Artistry. I received First and Second Places in the 2nd International World Web Gourd Show.

I sell my Gourd Art at the various Arts & Craft Markets in Australia. Having an online Gourds Downunder group, I now teach us Aussies, Gourd Artistry.

Have A Gourd Day
