Quik Pod DSLR Handheld Camera Extender

A Portable Hand Held Tripod Type Device

For those not familiar with the Original Quik Pod, it is a hand held tripod device for your camera. The Quik Pod DSLR is a newer, stronger, and longer extension version of the basic Quik Pod.

The Quik Pod DSLR is like a telescoping baton with a tripod like camera attachment at the end of it. By attaching your camera at one end, and holding onto the handle, you can extend your camera as far as 53 inches away from your actual grip enabling you to put your camera in places you could not otherwise do.

The primary focus on the commercials is the ability to take a picture of yourself and your date or friend without putting your camera in harms way on a distant tripod, or asking a passerby to take your picture for you. The feature enables you to take your own picture where ever you are quickly and easily.

Some of the many functional uses of this extender:

• Travelers: take your own picture of yourself with your scenic area behind you, no need to ask a stranger to handle your camera.
• Nature seekers: with this extension, you can reach more than four feet higher, get close-ups inside birds nests, look over the edge of rocks and cliffs, get pics of rattle snakes and other dangerous creatures without sticking your face in front of them.
• Hikers: get a higher perspective, peer over rocks, etc.
• Fun seekers: reach four feet over the crowds at parades, amusement parks, concerts, and other crowd drawing events.

The Quik Pod DSLR has additional accessories available like a three footed base that allows you to use it like a tripod, (however I would not trust it to be as sturdy as a real tripod in professional use). It will also handle cameras up to 2 pounds in weight including SLR and video cameras.

Obviously Professional photographers will see the short comings of this device, if you are taking small iris and longer shutter time photos the stability would not be there, however that is not what this device was designed for.
