This little Cannon powershot A560 digital camera reminds me in appearance of my Nikon Coolpix 4300 we purchased years ago.
While the Coolpix back then was a nice camera, (ours still is even after 8000 pictures), things have changed and in todays market, I think I
would personally lean toward the Canon myself. Based on 279 reviews with an average of 4.4 stars out of 5, this is one of the highest
consumer rated digital camera's in this price range I've seen yet. However an equal or maybe slightly better deal might be the Canon A570 IS for
just a few dollars more. It is essentially the same camera except with image stabilization which comes in real handy when shooting on the
move or zoomed in.
Review after review after review the Canon powershot a560 digital camera kept coming up with a resounding "nice camera" for the
money. Plenty of features, easy to use and light weight with very few complaints. Obviously at this price and this type of camera is
not a professional 10+ megapixel digital camera, but even most professional photographers don't always want to lug around that big bulky camera
with all the gear. Sometimes for the family BarBQue or just taking a few quick snapshots of the kids for the grandparents, you want something
that is smaller, lighter, yet takes quality pics and is sependable. This is what I get from reading so many reviews of this camera, and
with our budget if that old nikon Coolpix ever dies, this will be our target camera.
When looking at complaints of the Canon Powershot A560 digital camera, most were what many would consider "picky", but should be
recognized anyway. The biggest pickiness I saw was the SD card goes in where the batteries are. If you are taking a lot of pictures
and need to switch cards, it can be a bot of an inconvenience. Second to that one was it eats batteries, well I guess that complaint was
debatable. If you are used to digital camera's, you know they consume batteries, and this is exactly what some said. Some complained
of it eating batteries and others, perhaps more experienced were surprised at how long the batteries lasted, it is recommended by most to get
rechargable batteries to save on the usage.
My opinions based on what I read and the features, I would personally like to see a greater zoom, but few cameras in this price
range have a 10X zoom, but 4X is typical. For a replacement to our current camera, I would not hesitate to purchase one.
